About us

In the vast world of wine, consumers are spoiled for choice.

Welcome to Origin Wines. In the vast world of wine, consumers are spoiled for choice. Connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike are forever on the hunt for that vinous discovery that takes them down another path, one with new exciting flavours and textures.

That is our model – new tastes from wild vineyards. Undiscovered and under the radar wines from producers in regions yet to gain ground in Australia and further afield. We focus on the premium end, as the age-old term always holds true: “life is too short to drink bad wine”. We seek out and represent signature wines from passionate makers, focusing on unique, indigenous varietals that speak of the land they come from.

Our first collection embraces a country long loved by Australians. Portugal.

I’ve always been amazed that the stunning wines of one of the oldest wine producing countries in the world have never made it to our shores.

This collection encompasses one of Portugal’s biggest and most important wine producing regions – Alentejo. Here, it is certainly wild. The continental climate coupled with Mediterranean influences offers ideal conditions for the production of fantastic, top-quality wines.

We embrace just how great the region is through superb terroir and exemplary winemaking. These wines will surprise, delight and command your attention.

We focus on wineries that produce wines with minimal intervention, organic and biodynamic practices. The New York Times proclaims Alentejo as the seventh most sustainable wine region in the world. These are not experimental natural wines. These are classical and traditionally crafted with the finest attention to detail.

Our winery partners from Alentejo are members and advocates of one of the world’s most respected sustainability initiatives, WASP (the Wines of Alentejo Sustainability Programme) whose core mission is the implementation of sustainable practices in their vineyards and wineries.

The wines we import and represent are the pinnacle of a region that deserves front focus on the world stage. I am very proud to finally be able to bring these to Australia.
